The Pop-Up Farm is located just off Junction 9 of the M1, close to Harpenden.
This ‘Pop-Up Farm’ venture has been created by local farmer Ian Pigott, whose family have been farming in Hertfordshire for many generations. The vision is to deliver a different way for people to learn about farming. Using Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat follow our 'Luvvie crops' (the ones that think they are particularly photogenic). When they are ready our gates will open and we hope you will come and take and share your own photos, choose your own plants and spend time with family or friends at our farm.
This year we have already enjoyed sunflowers and sweetcorn. Pumpkins will be with us soon....
...please be mindful that the English weather can affect our crops greatly. This year's drought was disastrous for our sweetcorn, great for the sunflowers and will have an impact on pumpkins up and down the UK. They will be ready earlier than usual and many farmers are saying that their pumpkins are smaller than normal. Big isn't everything, our squashes should be sweeter to taste and our pumpkins will have an identity all of their own
